Purpose: To examine Glucose conditioned Kool-aid flavor preferences in rats.

Subjects: 8 Rats

  1. 2 days 24 hr access to 8% Glucose + 0.05% saccharin + 0.05% Kool-aid (Grape and Cherry counterbalanced).
  2. 14 Consecutive days of preference testing with 24 hr access to 2 bottles containing 0.05% saccharin and 0.05% Kool-aid, 1 bottle for grape, 1 for cherry.
  3. Follow up ?42? days after conditioning for 2 days of further preference testing.

Conclusions: Found that Glucose can cause a strong, long lasting preference for a Kool-aid flavor in rats.
