n=18 male and female rats (TH-GFP rats from Trombley).
Baseline: Placed on food and water restriction: Rats weighed daily, given 30 min access to water vs saccharin from 130pm to 2pm, then given measured ration of chow to maintain 90% initial bodyweight
Conditioning Days:
Day 1: 30 min access to CS+/glucose = 0.2% Koolaid + 0.2% saccharin + either 0% glucose, or 4% glucose, or 8% glucose
Day 2: 30 min access to CS-/glucose = 0.2% Koolaid + 0.2% saccharin
Two bottle preference tests of CS+/saccahrin vs CS-/saccharin
