Tests of unconditioned aversions to bitter, salt, or sour tastants

Quinine Sulfate

30 micromolar quinine sulfate (MW 391.47)

100x = 3 mM quinine sulfate = 0.003 * 392 g / liter = 1.76 g / liter = 0.588g / 500 ml (note: solubility of quinine sulfate is only 0.12g/100ml)

20 ml of 100x + 2 liters -> 30 micromolar quinine sulfate

NaCl

600 mM NaCl (MW 60) = 36 g / liter = 72 g/ 2 liters

HCl

0.01 M HCl (MW 36.5, comes in 10M solution)

2 ml of 10M + 2 liters -> 0.01 M HCl
